Those Foolish Games are still in my mind

1 02 2013

Hi Guys!

Here is an add-on to my “Valtane’s Intimate Playlist”.

As you may or may not know, this playlist is really close to my heart. It gathers all those songs I consider eternal, that always make me feels the same way when I listen to them, that reminds me so many things about my life. A key to my heart, a password to my mind… well here is now another piece of the puzzle of me.

Jewel – Foolish Games

Enjoy the music, as usual :)

28 01 2013

This is DOPE!

It’s sunday night, I should have gone to sleep already, but I just run into this video and it gave me a burst of energy to write this post.

Azealia Banks!
Did you know her? Am I the only one in the dark here? Well, let’s not talk too much or over analyze everything and DANCE (cause yeah, this is the only think I want to do right now…)

ZZ Ward – You didn’t stole it!

25 01 2013

Hello Folks,

I’m back on my deserted blog! “New year, new you”, as some peope like to say. Well let’s see if this year I will change my bad habits of having a totally disorganised lifestyle and spend a bit more time here…I usually got so many ideas in my mind, so many discoveries I want to share with you…as I always say, “Music is all around us”, so it’s not the inspiration that’s missing. But when you move to a new country, start a new job, and try to discover a new city…you put your mind into so many things that you loose the essential.

So well, let’s stop with the New Year introspection and let’s talk about why I’m here now, and why I started this blog back in the days: Music!

I’m proud to start again with what’s inspired me the most when I imagined this blog : My own discoveries. Do you know this feeling you can have when the music starts, you feel your head moving on the beats, and then you hear this groovy voice, and you know…you just know you’ve discovered a gem of an artist? Well I had the same feeling while I was listening to a random playlist on 8tracks, this amazing app I might talk to you about in a future post.

This “Gem of the day” is called ZZ Ward, she’s 26, from the US, and her debut album “Til the Casket drops” was released last October after a first EP, “Criminal” back in May 2012. Her song, “Move like you stole it” is what I like to call a “Happiness Song” cause once you listen to it, it generally makes your day.

So let’s smile with me on this and enjoy your weekend! I will be back soon, for sure.

Adeline Sings and you All want to Know!

1 08 2012

Hi Guys!

When I started this website, already a while ago, I had a clear list of artists I wanted to be featured in here just to share my discoveries with you and spread the love! And the artist I’m introducing to you today was in my head from the beginning. But I’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting for this “moment of truth”.

Her name is Adeline Michèle, she’s French and from Martinique too. I met her when I was in NYC and I was following her gigs all around town. From myspace singing alone to real life shows with her previous group The Crowd, Adeline has the perfect profile to succeed: A warm voice, a perfect style and a really nice attitude. No wonder why I’ve been watching, listening and enjoying her talent for so long.

And now has come the time to enjoy it with you.

Lianne La Havas, My Pretty Little Discovery

16 06 2012

Hello People!

It’s been a long long time that I haven’t discovered an artist out of the blue…The feeling you have when the first notes of the song resonate in the room, when the singer’s voice fills the place with good vibrations…and then you rush on your phone, turn on Shazam, grab this moment, hold your breath and finally discover a name you’ve never heard before! (Thanks technology cause back in the days it wasn’t that easy!)

Well this brilliant moment happened to me tonight as I was catching up on Pretty Little Liars last episode. It only last few seconds but it was definitely enough for me to be mesmerized! Her name, Lianne La Havas, 22 from London, UK. Her debut album will be released in July 9th and I already pre ordered it!

Rita Ora…Somebody that I didn’t know

20 04 2012

Another day, another voice!

Where was I all this time? Apparently Rita Ora is a big thing right now. A delicate voice from the UK à la Jessie J, the new protégé of Jay Z… I’m impressed!

She’s singing in acoustic one of my favourite song of the moment “Somebody that I used to know” by Gotye. The original is already high level, but Rita Ora succeeds to make it her own! You go girl!!

We found love by R… no Jessie J!

19 04 2012

OMG Guys,

I’ve already shared my love for Jessie J in a previous post and for a reason! She has this incredible talent to reinvente herself and the songs she touches with her precious voice. So  I’m even more thrilled to share with you my coup de coeur of the day!

We found love“: I hear this song every day, litterally, it’s my alarm clock! And I’ve already heard so many covers but waww I officially declare that Jessie J makes this song sooooo much powerful than Rihanna‘s original version of it

Enough with the talking, just listen and make your own opinion!
